Peter, my
boss’ boss, was a true hippy. He always
wore jeans a collared shirt left over from the 70’s and had long hair. He was a really great salesperson because he
was laid back, made the pitch, but never forced it or was like a used car
salesman.
My favorite
days were his meeting days. Peter had
ADD for sure. He rambled on and on,
never made a point and expected you to understand what he meant very
clearly. In my head, I counted the
amount of times he said the work “OK”. I
think I was up to 100 one day. That was
really the only way I could pay attention to him because his line of thinking
was so cluttered. I’m sure he dropped
way too much acid back in the day and probably still partakes in some
toking. These meeting days were quite
comical and I used to have to stifle the laughter that brewed inside of me,
especially when he was saying one thing then launched into another topic
without finishing his thought. During
the meetings, Peter never sat. He paced
back and forth, back and forth running his hands through his hair while he
tried to summon the thoughts into his head.
Totally Classic Peter.
Peter also
hated going into the store. He never
joined us for lunch and he rarely liked to go to meetings there. He liked being behind the desk and the phone
was attached to his ear about 98% of the time.
He worked hard and late into the night, but he was never on time in the
morning.
